Creative Cosmetic Photography.

Swatch shots provide a great opportunity to get really creative - utilising the texture and properties of the products to convey quality, texture and variety. Macro photography is an area I personally enjoy and is one of a few tools you’ll rely on when shooting beauty and cosmetic products in great detail - fine enough to capture the character of a silky smooth foundation or the powdery grain of crushed eyeshadow. Macro photography is the art of shooting objects in extreme close. Some swap shots come alive in macro format since the subject is shot in greater than in real life. Physical tools, such as palette knives, syringes and brushes, also help create a number of effects - lipsticks look creamy; liqiud foundation looks moisturising and hydrating; a marbled pool of nail varnish looks glossy and luxurious.
